An update now on plans for a new outdoor performing arts venue in Centre County.
With more than a Million Dollars already raised the project continues to take shape.
Bellefonte’s Tallyrand Park projected to be the future site for the Stage At Tallyrand, Envisioned to be a multi-purpose facility for concerts, shows and a wide range of events.
A Million dollar State grant has already been secured that could fund phase one of the project which is the stage itself, that construction could begin this Fall.
An application is in for more State money plus other fund-raising continues which could shape the scope of development planned to adjoin the stage
“Nothing has been certified. they did talk about a smaller scale stage, but we’ve seen other communications that it might be done in phases, so were not sure exactly what the case is”
The Stage At Tallyrand area will be off of South Water Street, already a busy access route. Plus there’s the issue of parking. Penndot traffic studies are expected
“The committee has indicated they,re moving forward, they’ve had conversations with Penndot and they’re very favorable”
It’s already certain more traffic is expected in that area of Bellefonte with the Penn Highlands Community College opening classes this Fall in the Match Factory Building next to Tallyrand
