Winter Special Olympics

The 44th annual Special Olympics Pennsylvania Winter Games concluded today after a two-year hiatus.

Snowshoeing, snowboarding, and skiing were the events that finished this morning.

And the athletes all seemed to share the same sentiment about being back for the games.

Alpine skier Lucas Maylock said, “It was a blast.”

The athletes also enjoyed the challenge the competition provided.

“The slopes have been challenging. The weather has not been good recently, but we came through and I had a great time”

“This week has been phenomenal. After being away for two or three years we’re finally back. I was really thrilled to be back. The energy here is just electrifying.”
