More charges have been filed against a Bedford man after police learned that he allegedly groped a young girl just days prior to sending her sexually explicit messages.
Last month, police charged 18-year-old Gabriel Martin following an investigation into allegations that he had sent various sexual messages and photos to a 10-year-old girl, via Snapchat.
Now, police say Martin is facing additional charges after the victim told authorities about an alleged encounter with him in which he reportedly “asked to touch her breasts.”
According to the affidavit, police say in May, Martin had allegedly messaged the victim after “running into her” while she was out on a walk with a relative.
State police say the victim admitted to giving Martin her Snapchat information and then meeting him near a local elementary school, where she had reportedly been swimming.
Investigators add that the victim’s relative reportedly witnessed the inappropriate contact and allegedly asked Martin, “did you at least ask her first?”
According to online court records, Martin was arraigned Tuesday on new charges of misdemeanor indecent assault and felony corruption of minors.
He is jailed in Bedford County on $35,000 bail.
