Big changes are coming to ACC football.
Starting in 2023 the conference will be eliminating the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions.
So what does that mean exactly? According to the ACC the new structure will be based on a 3-5-5 structure.
Each team will play 3 primary opponents annually and face the other 10 leagues teams twice during the 4-year cycle once at home and once on the road.
For the Pitt Panthers their 3 primary opponents will be Boston College, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech each year.
With the divisions being eliminated, the top 2 teams will be determined by conference win percentage.
Those 2 will play each other in the ACC Championship.
The ACC will still operate with 2 divisions for this year.
