We begin in Centre County a person has died after a truck crashed into a tree today.
Details are limited right now, but State Police say, it happened just before noon in the Port Matilda Borough.
Police say the driver of a garbage truck was backing into a driveway near the 200 block of North Main Street, and did not notice the tree.
Troopers say that’s when another worker was hanging onto the back of the truck and was struck by the over-hanging tree.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. the Coroner’s Office and State Police are still investigating.
