Several cooling stations are being made available to the public this week as a heatwave impacts many of us across the region
Temperatures are expected to exceed 90 degrees for most of the area Monday and Tuesday.
In Huntingdon County the Mount Union Fire and EMS Department is hosting a cooling station at the Social Hall on South Division Street.
The cooling center will operate daily this week from Noon to 7 p.m.
“Hopefully people come in and take advantage of it, especially today, a lot of people do not have air conditioners in their residences, so we thought this would be a good way to open it up and they have a place to come and cool down.”
The cooling station will continue to operate daily while heat indexes remain high in the county.
