The 11th annual Operation Our Town golf tournament was held today in Blair County.
36 Teams made up of students from 23 local schools traveled to the Park Hills Golf Club in Altoona.
Organizers say operation our town started 17 years ago with a mission of keeping drugs out of communities.
Organizers say this event gives kids the ability to connect with law enforcement on a personal level.
“What a beautiful day to have it. Operation Our Town is about fighting the drugs, making our streets safer for our kiddos, and making sure that they got a great place to grow up. Now we need to reintroduce Operation Our Town to a whole new set of generations. Hopefully we’re going to keep continuing to do that.”
Durbin says he hopes this tradition keeps growing from generation to generation.
