When we think about our health and wellbeing, we know that there are certain things that can impact us either positively or negatively. This is true for all aspects of life, including substance use. In 1992, Doctors David Hawkins and Richard Catalano developed The Risk and Protection Theory to determine the causes and solutions to substance use. They defined six domains that impact future incomes. Today, we discuss the protective factors that can counter the risk factors with Donny Hoffman from Blair Drug and Alcohol Partnerships.
