Authorities with the Mifflin County Regional Police Department confirmed that the Reedsville man charged with murder in connection to the disappearance of a prominent D.C. photographer is being extradited.
Police say Brandon Holbrook was picked up Thursday afternoon and is in the process of being extradited to Calvert County, Maryland.
Holbrook was arrested earlier this month following an investigation into the disappearance of 51-year-old Joseph Anthony Shymanski.
Police say their investigation reportedly led them to Holbrook’s home in Brown Township, where authorities later discovered human remains on the property.
Earlier this week, officials confirmed that the remains belonged to Shymanski.
Investigators note that federal authorities are also involved in the case and will likely be handling any future charges against Holbrook, including charges related to the discovery of the remains.
