State Passes University Budget Funding

We begin with a new funding bill approved by the State House today for four Universities including Penn State.

It’s also approved for Pitt and two other state related Universities.

Although Penn State officials do not like a key provision in the legislation.

The bill would freeze tuition at the four Universities for the 2024/2025 school year.

Penn State claims that it undermines the authority of the school’s board of trustees to set tuition rates.

State funding for the four Universities has been stuck in a political stalemate this year.

The house bill now goes to the Senate for consideration.
