The state Senate has approved over $600 million for Penn State, Pitt and two other state-related universities.
Penn State is set to receive $242 million of the funding.
The funding for the colleges has been held up in the legislature since this summer.
The Senate also approved a bill that now requires the four schools to provide additional information through the state’s Right to Know law.
