Legislation aimed at banning the popular social media app ‘TikTok’ has passed the house.
Lawmakers say it will then go to the senate. President Biden saying he would sign such a bill.
Windber assistant principal, Steve Slatcoff, says his school district deals heavily with social media.
Slatcoff tells me the administration at the Windber School District sees the bill as a step forward, and says they find the platform TikTok inappropriate.
He says the banning of the app TikTok will serve as one less distraction for the students.
“Any time you can maximize instructional time for students, that’s obviously a positive benefit. Not only for the students, but also the school district as a whole.”
