Arrest Made in Recent Westmont School Threat

Authorities say a juvenile has been arrested for threats made toward Westmont Hilltop High School last week.

They say the arrest was made by Upper Yoder Township Police and the juvenile faces felony charges, although further details were not made available due to the case involving a minor.

District officials say multiple threatening messages were received, starting Wednesday, through a student organization’s social media account.

They say the threats were directed at an adult at the high school.

The Cambria County District Attorneys Office says the investigation also involved the Cambria County Detective Bureau and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“This should serve as a reminder that threats of any nature against our schools, teachers, administrators, students, etc., are going to be taken very seriously and investigated aggressively by law enforcement, The safety of our schools is of utmost importance. This type of activity can have severe consequences, both now and into the future, regardless of the age of the actor. Law Enforcement and School Districts continue to work together to provide the safe learning environment that our children deserve.”
