Authorities in Cambria County say a Nanty Glo man is facing several charges following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse.
According to the affidavit, police received a complaint, in December of 2021, regarding an alleged sexual assault that reportedly occurred when the victim was 5-years old.
Police say the victim, who is now a teenager, accused 26-year-old Brett Houser of raping and sexually assaulting her at a Cambria County home.
Investigators say the girl was reportedly forced to perform sexual acts on Houser before he allegedly raped her.
Police say the victim told officers that she was “confused” about what had happened and was “scared” to report it.
Authorities say the victim later reported the abuse after partaking in the “good touch, bad touch” program at her school and stated that she now “understood” what had allegedly happened to her.
According to online court records, Houser was arraigned over the weekend on various charges, including rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure and reckless endangerment.
He is being held at the Cambria County Prison on $50,000 bail.
