Conemaugh Valley High School Threats

Authorities with the East Taylor Township Police Department say a juvenile is in custody after they confessed to making threats towards the Conemaugh Valley High School.

According to Detective Paul Deffenbaugh, police were contacted on Wednesday to investigate the alleged threats made against the student body and an upcoming school dance.

Det. Deffenbaugh says the juvenile, who attends another local school, was identified and arrested.

Authorities say the case is now being handled in the juvenile court system.

“The safety of our students and staff is the top priority at Conemaugh Valley School District. We are fortunate to have strong relationships with local law enforcement. They did an outstanding job in this case. We also have strong relationships with our parents, families, and community members. A strong sense of trust has been built between and among all of us. It is these relationships that enable us to effectively handle difficult situations like the one we faced yesterday,”
