About 40 kids participated in a Culture Fair today at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Johnstown.
The Grow Home School co-op invited home school families and other students in the area to participate.
Students picked a country researched it and put together an informational display.
Organizers say it was a great way to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
“I think to open their eyes, to see that there’s a lot more beyond Johnstown. I think looking at, especially countires that are different from you, especially on Martin Luther King Jr.’s day, that’s what we need to do. We need to raise awareness of how we’re different, but yet, how we’re alike”
She says events the co-op holds is also a great way for students to socialize.
