The National Weather Service has confirmed that four tornados reportedly touched down this past weekend as severe weather swept across the region.
Officials confirming Monday that the strongest of those storms was an EF-2 tornado that touched down along Old Mill Road in the Warriors Mark area of Huntingdon County on Saturday night.
NWS officials say the tornado reportedly reached a maximum wind speed of 125 mph as it downed countless trees and caused damage to several structures, including multiple silos and an occupied cabin.
Investigators determined that it was part of the same storm system that produced an EF-1 tornado in the Houtzdale/Woodward Township area of Clearfield County.
Weather officials say that tornado reached an estimated wind speed of 110 mph.
Additionally, the NWS also confirmed that an EF-1 tornado caused damage in the Summerville area, near the Clarion and Jefferson county line.
Officials say that tornado reached an estimated wind speed of 90 mph and uprooted several trees.
Elsewhere in Jefferson County, the NWS says an EF-0 tornado was reported in the Punxsutawney area, causing localized damage near Graffius Avenue.
NWS surveyors say no injuries were reported in any of the storms and emergency crews are continuing to assist with cleanup in the affected communities.
