Tree Service Rescues Fawn During Storm Cleanup

A tree service crew clearing storm debris in Clearfield County rescued a young deer while working to reopen roads after severe storms moved through the area Saturday.

Arbor Pro’s Tree Service said its crew responded to Houtzdale around 10 p.m. after the storm to assist the township with clearing blocked roadways. The company said the work was aimed at restoring safe travel for emergency responders, utility crews and residents.

While removing debris, workers found a fawn trapped in heavy brush and downed trees. The company said the animal appeared to be uninjured but was unable to move through the debris.

The crew safely moved the fawn to the nearby woods, hoping it would reunite with its mother.

According to Arbor Pro’s Tree Service, workers contacted the Centre Wildlife Care, which advised that returning an uninjured fawn to a wooded area was the appropriate course of action.

The company said utility crews and other emergency workers continue restoring power, communication lines and clearing debris in areas affected by the storm.

Arbor Pro’s Tree Service said its crews will remain in the Houtzdale area throughout the week to assist with roadside debris removal and encouraged property owners affected by the storm to contact the company if they need assistance.
