Police say Kailum Miller admitted to lighting a mattress and a coat on fire inside his Maple Street apartment in White Township just before midnight.
Officials say Miller left the apartment after he set the blaze and was later taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for breathing problems.
Police note that neighboring apartments were occupied when Miller set the fire.
Miller is charged with several felony and misdemeanor arson-related offenses
He’s being housed in the Indiana County jail on $100-thousand-dollars bail.
