A 45-year-old Mifflin County man has been charged in Huntingdon after he allegedly broke into a house while fleeing from police.
On Friday Huntingdon Borough police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Donald Meshyock, of McVeytown, for driving on a suspended license.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, Meshyock then fled toward a dead-end street — where he left the vehicle and fled on foot.
A chase then allegedly occurred. During the chase, Meshyock broke into a 5th Street home, according to the affidavit.
He was arrested behind the house.
Police found brass knuckles and a knife on Meshyock, and 1.2 ounces of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were found in his vehicle, according to the affidavit.
Meshyock has been charged with multiples offenses, including felony burglary and drug possession.
He was arraigned Monday before District Judge Rufus S. Brenneman, of Huntingdon, and was sent to the Huntingdon County Prison in lieu of a $300,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 9 before Brenneman.
