A new judge is officially on the bench in Centre County
Julia Rater was sworn in this afternoon to the county’s court of common pleas.
Rater won both the Republican and Democratic nominations in the county judge’s race this past primary election.
Due to a current judicial vacancy the state officials approved her nomination ..
Allowing her to forego November’s general election and be sworn in early.
“To protect all lives within the confines of the law and to treat everyone with dignity and respect.”
Rater has practiced law in the county for nearly 30 years.
