One Teen Sentenced in Foiled Shooting Plot

Authorities with the Cambria County District Attorney’s office say one of the two teens charged in the “foiled” Westmont school shooting plot was sentenced Monday.

Logan Pringle, 17, was sentenced to serve 3 to 6 years in state prison, followed by ten years of probation.

In late August, Pringle pleaded no contest to charges of criminal conspiracy and making terroristic threats.

Police allege that Pringle and 17-year-old Preston Hinebaugh had conducted surveillance at the school, as part of their plot, prior to their arrests last December.

In June, the pair filed a motion to dismiss the case, arguing that they had been “unlawfully” detained due to “insufficient” evidence in the case.

Hinebaugh’s father was also charged with evidence tampering in the case after police found multiple weapons at their residence.

Preston Hinebaugh’s case is scheduled to go to trial.
