State police in Cambria County say a Patton man is behind bars after authorities say he allegedly viewed images of child pornography on social media.
According to the affidavit, police say they received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding alleged child pornography that was being viewed on Facebook.
Investigators say one of the videos reportedly showed two young boys engaged in sexual activity.
Upon further investigation, police say they were able to trace the Facebook profile to an IP address at a residence in Patton.
Troopers say they later identified the resident as 33-year-old William Boring, who police say admitted to being the owner the Facebook account in question.
Authorities say Boring also admitted to previously viewing images of child pornography.
Investigators noted that Boring is listed as an actively registered sex offender under the Pennsylvania Megan’s Law.
Police say investigators then seized Boring’s electronic devices where they reportedly found additional images and videos of child porn.
According to online court records, Boring was arraigned Wednesday on charges of child pornography, disseminating images of child sex acts and criminal use of a communication device.
He is being held at the Cambria County Prison on $100,000 bail.
