The Pittsburgh Penguins have some work to do if they are to get “the old band back together” to continue to chase Stanley Cups with this aging core group of Players.
Over the weekend, the first step was signing Bryan Rust. Ron Hextall got that done. Now comes the hard part — negotiating with Defenseman Kris Letang and Center Evgeni Malkin to have them finish their careers in Pittsburgh.
Thus far this Offseason, Hextall presented his plan for the Team moving forward. According to Hextall, Fenway Sports Group is on board.
