Phillipsburg Borough Secretary Violated The Sunshine Act

The Philipsburg Borough Secretary Shelley Walstrom admitting at last night’s borough council meeting the borough violated the Sunshine Act, regarding a special meeting in late January not being advertised properly.

Sunshine Laws are regulations that require public disclosure of government agency meetings and records.

Our crew at the meeting says she submitted the meeting information to a local newspaper on the Friday before the meeting

But that newspaper does not have a Monday paper anymore leading to the meeting not being advertised in time.

“We violated the Sunshine Law, it was my mistake, I take responsibility for it, It was not advertised properly, I advertised it on a Friday. I thought it was going into Monday’s paper, because Monday, the progress always had a Monday.”

The special meeting in question was supposed to take place on January 23rd.
