Huntingdon County coroner Paul Sharum has identified the man whose body was recovered from Raystown Lake earlier this week.
Sharum says 20-year-old Douggreco Bailey, of Coatesville, drowned Wednesday afternoon while swimming with friends in the lake.
Troopers say Bailey was attempting to swim to shore when he went under the water and never resurfaced.
Search teams recovered his body several hours later.
Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say several volunteer fire departments, other agencies, assisted with the search.
“Water safety is imperative when recreating in or near the water. Wearing a life jacket can save your life,” officials said in a statement.
