SBA Flood Loan Outreach Center Opens In Tyrone

Low-interest disaster loans are now available for residents and businesses impacted by this month’s flooding in Blair and several surrounding counties.

The U.S. Small Business Administration has opened a disaster loan outreach center at the Tyrone Borough building to help people apply for low-interest recovery loans following the flooding on July 5th and 6th.

Officials say assistance is available for anyone affected in Blair, Bedford, Cambria, Centre, Clearfield and Huntingdon counties.

The center will also help applicants access the Commonwealth’s disaster recovery assistance program grants.

The office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., through August 13th. Residents can also submit paper applications by mail.

While the loan disaster center will only be open in Tyrone until August 13th, the deadline to submit an application is September 21st.

For those planning to visit the center for an application, officials remind applicants to bring a photo ID, their latest tax returns and an estimate of the damages.
