Southmont House Fire

Authorities in Cambria County say an early morning blaze destroyed a home in Southmont Tuesday.

911 officials say multiple area crews were dispatched to the residence, located along the 400 block of Southmont Blvd., just before 5 a.m.

Authorities say the home was deemed a total loss after the fire caused both the roof and the porch to collapse.

Officials say the blaze also caused some damage to neighboring homes, which were evacuated.

No injuries were reported in the blaze but a firefighter was transported for an evaluation.

A state police fire marshal was called to the scene to assist Southmont Fire Department and West Hills Police with determining the cause of the fire.
