The State College Borough Council passed a resolution Monday designating this month as No Mow May.
The resolution is part of a Sustainability Program which allows property owners to practice pollinator friendly lawn care during May of this year.
When bees and other pollinators emerge from their dormancy in the late Spring and early Summer, they require flowering plants as a foraging habitat.
The program is voluntary and residents are advised to not let their grass grow too tall for their mower come June first.
