Firefighters say, it started from the kitchen and spread to the upper levels of the home on West Beaver Avenue.
No one was in the house at the time the fire broke out and a passerby spotted smoke, and heard alarms inside.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to get to the flames in the attic and bedrooms.
An animal inside apparently escaped through an open window.
The fire remains under investigation.
