A Bedford County man who was charged for fatally shooting another man with a crossbow in 2021 will spend up to five years in prison after being sentenced last week.
Online court records show that Alec Rhoads was sentenced to serve 15 months to 5 years in state prison after pleading no contest in the case.
Authorities accused Rhoads of shooting 53-year-old Daren Lingenfelter in the neck, with a crossbow, inside a home in Liberty Township in May of 2021.
The charges had to be refiled in the case following the resignation of the previous Bedford County District Attorney.
