Elk County based Citizens Against Physical, Sexual and Emotional Abuse is teaming up with the Cameron Elk Behavioral and Developmental Program for Crisis Schema training to our area.
This is the first time this type of training is being offered in the country.
The training will be taught by Sean McCallum who is coming to Saint Marys from the United Kingdom where he was a firefighter.
Billie Jo Weyant, the Executive Director explains why they are doing the training.
“We need something to bring here to see if possibly we could get a few folks in each of the departments trained to understand if there is a crisis or they do have people or peers that need that help that they can do that.”
The classes will be at the Crystal Fire Department in Saint Marys from 9 to 5.
The workshops will be on May 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.
