According to a press release from state police, a deadly crash occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 80 in Centre County.
Police say the vehicle was traveling at approximately 55 mph westbound on Interstate 80 at mile marker 163.1 south of Mount Eagle shortly before 3 A.M.
The release says the driver, 37-year-old Julie Volk, abruptly changed to the left lane, returned to the right lane, overcompensated to the left again, and then made one abrupt weave to the right.
According to police, Volk was unable to regain control of the vehicle and it landed on its driver side before sliding over 200 feet.
Police say Volk was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger in the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A further investigation of the crash determined that it was likely caused by driver fatigue, according to the release.
