Former Pa. Congressman Passes At 91

Former Pennsylvania Republican Congressman Bud Shuster reportedly passed away Wednesday afternoon at the age of 91.

Shuster, who was born in Glassport, Pa, served in Congress for nearly three decades, from 1973 to 2001.

During his political tenure, Shuster served as the chairman of the House Transportation Committee which greenlit several road construction projects, including Interstate 99 in Blair and Centre counties, which is also known as Bud Shuster Highway.

Shuster’s death was confirmed Wednesday by the current House Transportation Committee chairman, Sam Graves (R-MO)

He is survived by his five children, including his son Bill, who succeeded him in Congress, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and by his second wife Darlene.
