Lion Mobile Clinic

In Centre County the Lion Mobile Clinic hit the road again today stopping by the Howard United Methodist Church during the church’s soup sale this Afternoon where it offered free flu and Covid shots as well as other medical services.

The traveling health facility is a partnership between Evangelical Community Hospital in Union County and the Penn State College of Medicine.

It periodically visits areas that may be underserved in terms of medical care.

“What is really troubling is that if you don’t have access to a vehicle, or can’t make it to some of the larger locations like State College, it can be near to impossible to receive health care.
What we’re trying to do with the mobile health initiative is try to go to where people are located, to help bring the care they deserve and need.”

The clinic’s organizers say there are about 10-thousand residents in Centre County who do not have health care.
