Reward for Information Increases

The murder of 2 people and a dog in Johnstown that happened about 8 months ago still remains unsolved. Here’s how the community is working together to help solve the mystery.

If you’re driving in the Johnstown area, you might come across the billboard featured in the video. The District Attorney tells us — he hopes this keeps the case on the forefront of people’s minds. 61-year-old Lionel Mickens, his dog Daniel, and 36-year-old Britney Rummel were all found shot to death inside a home along Pine Street in the Hornerstown section of the City at the end of April this year.

The reward for information was increased from $4,500 to now $7,000, donated by Cambria County Crime Stoppers and family members. The Cambria County District Attorney says he hopes this leads to someone with information coming forward to Law Enforcement. Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer saying: “No matter how small that piece of information may seem to a member of the community, that may be a huge piece of information for law enforcement. Law enforcement takes these very seriously, and we’ll never stop working on it until we’re able to prosecute the actor or actors that did this.”

If you have information on this case, you can contact the Johnstown Police Department, the Cambria County District Attorney’s Office, or the Cambria County non-emergency 911 line.
