Small Plane Crashes On Pa. Turnpike

Emergency officials are on the scene of a small plane crash in York County.

According to County 911 Dispatch, a small aircraft crashed just before 3:00 PM in the area of the PA Turnpike and Interstate 83 in Fairview Township.

Emergency officials say there are injuries, but at this time it is not known how many people are injured or the severity of their injuries.

PennDOT says the crash involved a utility truck and the small plane.

The aircraft, a Cessna 180, crashed on 76 Turnpike at the Harrisburg West Interchange at exit 242. A maintenance bucket truck was also struck.

There were two people on the plane. One person is being transported via aeromedical helicopter, the second is being treated at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

The FAA is currently at the scene.

The Fire Department, EMS, 911 Mobile Unit, and State Police are currently on scene.

This is considered an active scene.

PennDOT says all ramps from Interstate 83 to the Turnpike have now reopened.
