The Nehemiah Project started to feed kids breakfast and lunch during the Pandemic shutdown in Altoona. Organizers say in the more than 2 years since, they have served more than 125,000 meals for those in need.
The Non-Profit serves meals Monday through Friday. It started out with kids and expanded to families. They plan to continue serving meals until at least the Spring of next year, but Officials say there are concerns. Nehemiah Project CEO Peter Joudry saying: “However, I believe as inflation takes hold and grips families, we’re probably going to see an increase in food insecurity and as a result our numbers will go up.”
They’re asking for assistance with funding because they say they’re running out.
