Authorities in Cambria County say one person was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a train versus passenger vehicle collision.
911 officials say the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the area of Krings Street and Eisenhower Blvd. in Richland.
According to a witness, the SUV was reportedly stopped on the tracks when it was struck by a CSX freight train.
Flaggers were also reportedly nearby, directing traffic, as that intersection has seen a recent increase in traffic due to a local detour.
Richland police are investigating the crash and Eisenhower Blvd. is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.
The extent of the person’s injuries are unknown at this time.
