911 officials say crews were dispatched to the blaze around 7 a.m.
According to Altoona Deputy Fire Chief Michael Hawksworth, eight total apartments were involved in the fire.
Officials added that two people were transported from the scene, including a firefighter, and were taken to UPMC Altoona for further evaluation.
