State College Ice Hockey Dispute

Accusations and more legal arguments continuing in the State College School District’s case involving their Ice Hockey Club. The dispute began last year when Parents of 3 female Students filed suits in State and Federal Courts claiming the School District violated Title 9 provisions by not providing an opportunity for the Students to skate on a team.

A Federal Judge ordered both sides into Mediation, but the Parents’ group recently filed an Amended Complaint, saying the Mediation has failed. The Ice Hockey Club is asking the Judge to reconsider the new complaint for various reasons, including the fact the Club says its already spent $15,000 in Attorney fees.
